Albert or the Book of Man is the third work in a unique science-fiction series by Perry Brass. Two previous novels, Mirage and Circles, introduced the reader to the magical world of Ki, where men-loving-men and “off-sexers” live in wary tolerance under the guiding watch of the priestesses of the Goddess. A fantasy realm one part radical faeries’ utopia and one part nightmare, the “same-sexers” of Ki are endowed with telepathic powers as well as a mystical third testicle, and for three generations now, they have not been able to stay away from Earth. Although Albert is a novel unto itself, it is part of a saga, comparable to other fantasy sagas like Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings or C.S. Lewis’s Narnia books, a rich and complete imagining of a whole world.
